About This Site
The Street Story site is named after the magnificent album which introduced both its
webmasters to the incredible Okinawan JPop/JRock band HY. It was founded on 2007.02.24
and opened publicly on 2007.07.07 with a mission to build up an English fan site
covering all aspects of and spread awareness about what was at the time a truly awesome band!
This website was created by webmasters Kumo and MoCo.

The Webmasters' History With HY
Both webmasters discovered HY through a random Japanese download page which had
all of the band's Street Story album up for grabs. Like most foreigners discovering
the greatness of JPop, they were more used to the happy, high-voiced pop songs which
exist in mainstream abundance and get the most exposure through anime promotion, etc.
HY's style caught them off guard with heavier rock, a non-sugary female voice and worst
of all, rap (eek, or so they thought at the time).
The appeal of this group however, and the excellent melodies of the album kept MoCo
coming back to listen again and again as his ears adjusted to appreciate their immense talent.
As his fandom slowly grew he urged Kumo to also give HY a closer listen and he too
came to see what an incredible group of musicians they were. They both ended up embracing
what had initially kept them at bay and eventually the band worked its way up to
become one of their undisputed favorites.
Sporting full CD and DVD collections, Kumo and MoCo decided to take the next step up in the HY experience by
flying over to Japan to see them live at Budokan in December 2006. Additionally they and some other friends
saw them in Philadelphia, USA in March 2007, where they got to meet the members in person, a dream come true.
With the arrival of 2008, the two traveled to Okinawa in February and met again on HY's home turf, later saw
them in seven locations in and around Tokyo, and yet again for their MAGGY HAKODE final in Okinawa!
In spring of 2010, Kumo and MoCo returned once more for a final HY live experience in the form of six MACHIKANTY SO-TANDOH performances.
